I have a NEW viewsonic monitor and every now and then -a few times a day- I will see like a rippling affect on my screen. Like waves. It is transparent but it is noticeable. I thought I was drunk the first time I saw it. The monitor is about 1 month old. I used to have GF 4200 card, same problem. I replaced the GF with a 9500 Radeon and the problem is still there. Is this a problem with the monitor?

Refresh is 100 (which it supports) and 1024 x 768

thanks

Check the monitor manual for a setting or adjustment for 'moire' or 'moire cancelling'. Happy computing.

Try various refresh rates (high and low) and one should make it go away. This can also happen when there are electrical devices in the area of the monitor.

also check for electronic devices next to monitor.. ie: radio, powered speakers, florescent light ect.
turn em off and see if that was the culprit. More times than not, I have seen florescent desk lamps cause this problem.

I did the above things and I still see it every now and then. Its not elec devices as I have had the same set up for years and never seen it. It must be something with the monitor itself. I will call Viewsonic tomorrow but I dont think I will get anywhere.

Thanks
