Kind of dangerous. Water and electricity don't mix.

In a factory they'd take it apart and clean with very clean water like distilled and blow dry it and re-assemble.

Not sure it would be safe to try but if you do wear rubber everything and do it outside on cement or wooden table when you try to plug it in and start. Might wear rubber everything.

Or you can send it to scrap heap which might make more sense.

If it was a curbie....the previouse owner just tossed it rather than try and fix if.

Bet all it needs is a power supply and ram if they pulled it.

Just picked up a dell that had been in the land fill for months...full of dirt.....and some water... cleaned it out...new psu, ram and a cdrom and it runs.

Case is beat to hell but cases are a dime a dozen

The water shouldn't have done any damage unless you didn't let it completely dry out before firing it up since water won't affect components that aren't powered.

Well, there is the cmos battery but unless the motherboard was soaked that probably didn't cause any damage.
