I spilt some water on my laptop (on top of keyboard, mostly). luckily, the computer still works and it doesn't seem to slow down or anything. One problem (a quite serious one): my keyboard doesn't work. I can't type in anything at all. the mouse (on the laptop) is working fine, though.
can someone tell me how serious of a problem this is? and how much it might cost to repair it? thx.

G'day,
Are you sure that there is still no water in it? No pockets on the circuit board. If you pull it apart to make sure of this, then you will void your warranty if it is still current. If it's not try pulling the keyboad out (not easy on a laptop I'll admit)and make sure the keys are dry and clean. Check the insides of the machine. If you do have it still under warranty send it back as Ryan suggested. One thought: do you have a connection on the side for an external keyboard?? This will enable you to see if the problem is just confined to the keyboard. I suspect not, though, laptops are put together quite compactly. Good luck, Elric

Using the mouse - go to start menu - programs - accessories - accessibility - keyboard. This enables on-screen keyboard until you decide what to do.
