I created a monster when I showed my wife that she could download TV shows using a bit torrent. My problem is she wants to watch these on TV...a bigger screen. What is the best (and cheapest) way to accomplish this. I believe my video is built on the motherboard. Also once I get the video to the TV, how do I get the sound to the TV?

Thanks

If your motherboard has an AGP slot, you can add a video card with TV out. Add the required cabling and watch your broadband bills go through the roof!

Personally, I'd tell her it can't be done.

If you have a new televison, you can connect your computer's video card and the t.v. together using a S-video cable. However, both your video card and your t.v. must have the S-video connector. S-video is a round plug a little smaller than a dime. You should find it on your video card. If your video card has S-video and your t.v. does not you can use an S-Video Out to Composite Out Adapter Cable. This changes S-video to the old style you can use on an older t.v.

I'm not sure about this one, but I think a t.v. tuner card would work. You can run the red, white, and yellow cables to the usually the back of the television. A t.v. tuner card costs about $30.00. An S-video cable costs $3.00 - $6.00.

For the sound you just have to connect the line out or speaker connector of your soundcard on onboard sound to the audio in of the tv. Most tv use 2 chich connectors for it so you need a special cable with the correct connectors on the ends or an adapter for your soundcard connector if you use a standard chinch audio cable!
