Hey, I know its possible to watch satellite TV on your computer. I have a satellite reciever (Dish network) in a different room, and I would like to watch that on my computer. I noticed that on the back of the reciever it has an s-video port. Could I get a s-video cable and connect it onto the back of my computer and watch it? Thanks

Yes, but you need to buy a TV card. MSI do a fairly inexpensive one and it will accept s-video as an input. You can go a step further and buy a full-blown capture device, but it's not really worth it unless you want to make videos etc..

Take a look Hauppauge pci tuner cards, will allow you to record shows to the PC as well. On sale you can get one for around $60.

You may also use a Pinnacle USB2 TV tuner with an antenna input (provided that your SAT tuner has such an output). Price around 60$. Only yesterday I tested it (recording of TV programs) and the results were quite good.

You need a TV tuner to watch TV on computer. For recording TV show, third party software is needed. Here is an address for guiding how to record tv shows on computer: http://www.soft29.com/how-to/record...
