I purchased a thermaltake volcano 9 heatsink&fan and when i opened the package, there was some sort of sticker in there. the label of the sticker reads "SEKISUI #5760". Does anybody know what it is for?

That's your thermal interface material. It's either a thermal pad or possibly thermal tape. It should be placed on the bottom of your heatsink & makes the heat transfer between the CPU core & heatsink more efficient. Do NOT run your CPU without an interface material in place...you could fry your CPU. Most people chuck the pad & use thermal paste instead. The difference in thermal transfer rates between pads & paste are minor, though many will probably recommend that you use Arctic Silver paste. AMD recommends using a pad.

but how do you install that? i checked it out and found out that it has 3 layers. one is like paper, the middle one is a two sided plastic like adhesive, and the last one is a yellow paper much like the ones you see on stickers. would i remove both sides and leave only the two sided adhesive?

take off one side...stick it to your heatsink then take off other side and then connect heatsink...be carful not to touch the tape...

after i've applied the sticker under the HS, do i still need to apply arctic siver 3?
