Viewing vcr through Media Center

OS: Windows XP Media Center E
CPU/Ram: Pentium R 4 CPU 3.20 ghz

When I view an anolog device (VCR) through Media Center, the picture and sound intermittently goes in and out. If the VCR is in Fast Forward play or review this doesn't happen. I have tried 2 different VCR's and the problem persists.
