Hi guys.
At work the other day I inserted the SD Flash card containing some holiday snaps from my digital camera into my computer and I viewed them using Windows Vista Photo Gallery. I DID NOT copy them to the computer just viewed them from the card through Photo Gallery.
My question is, have those pictures now been copied to my computer just by viewing them from the card? I mean, could those pictures be recovered from that computer's hard drive (there are some personal ones so that would be embarassing) even though I haven't transferred them from the card to the computer??

They may well exist in a cache somewhere which will get overwritten in time but not as stand-alone files.
If anyone were to go looking for them they would have to have some idea what they were looking for and where to find it. I think you can breath easy.

The files shouldn't have copied to the computer unless you took that action. The computer simply read the files from the source, just like it does with items stored on CD or the hard drive.
That said, you shouldn't put yourself in that position by using the work computer for personal business. I would guess that is against company policy.
Your company needs to protect the integrity of their network. Files you introduce could possibly infect the system. This could come back to bite you.
You may work for a small company or you probably wouldn't even be able to view any media you have brought in to the work place.
