I have a setup with two monitors. A 17 inch and a 15 inch monitor, using my 17 inch as my main one. They both are VGA plugs but to put both my monitors I had to use a VGA to DVI converter on my x800 GTO. What I'm wondering is if there is a difference in speed or anything with the DVI and VGA. The VGA to DVI is on my 15 inch, and my 17 inch is straight to the VGA port. If I want my 17 inch to have more performance or look better, would it be better to use the VGA to DVI converter on my 17 inch instead of my 15 inch?

i believe it would be just the same. blue vga socket is analogue. the white dvi socket has analogue and digital pins in it. the 'convertor' feeds the analogue pins of the white socket into a blue vga socket. I cant see it makes any difference. at least that's what i reckon. esay for you to try it though
