I know the 8600GT is dx10 compatible, but I don't plan on upgrading my desktop to Vista anytime soon, so maybe a 7600GT would be a better fit. Would anyone recommend either one? It would seem like a small jump from a 6600gt to the 7600gt.

Athlon 64 x2 4200 2.2GHz
1.5GB PC3200 Dual Channel
XFX GeForce 6600GT PCI-E
Thermaltake 430W

HP dv6000t Notebook
Intel Core 2 Duo T5300
2x1GB DDR2 PC5300
128MB GeForce GO 7400

Thanks, I will have to check to see if that will even fit in my case. Does anyone have similar specs like mine and can tell me the kind of card they are using and if they would recommend it?
