Hey Joey, personally I would go with the ATI 9550 and softmod it to ATI 9600 in order to overclock it, I'll help you with that.

I myself own that exact BFG FX5500 O'C, I've added heat sinks and overclocked it up to 315mhz/485mhz.

The card is decent but if I had known earlier that I would be purchasing a Sharp LCD Aquos 37" I should have gotten a better card with DVI.

Come to think of it $120 for an FX5500 is kind of expensive considering it doesn't have DVI... Darn that was stupid of me but it came with a free game.

Remember also that the Fx5500 is based on the Fx5200 only that it uses 128bit memory.
Slightly faster.

Since you are on a tight budget, go with the ATI.

AMD 64 3000+ 1.8ghz @ 2.025ghz
512mb PC3200
BFG 256mb FX5500 O'C
400w PSU

you can get the same stuff your looking at cheaper i got my bfg 5500 oc for like 75.00 brand new (not refurbished)
