Hi Everyone,
I just bought a new PC (specs below) and I have a question. I installed "Far Cry" and when I start it - I guess it scans my hardware - and it says "machine: Very High" but then I look and all the video effects are set on "low" 1024X768
I set it on 800X600 but put all the video settings on high - and then the game froze on me...lol.
Anybody know why this is?
Does my graphics card suck even though it's 128 ddr pci express? I thought that was good?

Your video card isn't really all that ideal for gaming. It's not a bad card, but Far Cry is a demanding game. Your system is great, but your card holds it back.
The Radeon X300 is about as low as you can go in PCI-E cards, especially if it's the 64-bit version. That really doesn't explain your freeze-up problem, but it's something you should be aware of. Try it at 800x600 with the settings on low & see what happens
You shouldbe able to play it decently I would think. I can play far cry at 1024X768 and on moderate with my rig which has a radeon 9600 standard edition. Make sure and see that all drivers are up to date.
