I have a GeForce4 Ti 4600. It just suddenly started acting up. All of these black and yellow bars are on the screen and there are also many $ signs.

Sounds like it's time to RMA it or replace it. I had the exact same symptoms on a PNY Ti4600, turned out to be faulty RAM on the card.

My PNY TI4600 did the same thing about a month ago.I installed a aftermarket hsf w/ ramsinks (thermaltake) about a year ago.Freaking out i removed the vid.card and removed the aftermarket hsf, ramsinks and replaced the original hsf.I was about to pack it and attempt a RMA,but i re-installed it back into the pc and it's been working fine ever since.

I had saved a forum discussion on the problem, but i cant find the url.

Alot of people were saying bad ram,bad board design, bad agp configuration no one really knows.I will find that forum discussion for you and post it here.

You might want to remove the card and carefully replace it in the AGP slot. and see if it works. Some people were saying that they put the card back in and pulled up slightly and left it that way (2/3rds)the way in the AGP slot that it worked for them.

What brand is your ti4600?

Is it still under warranty? Beware of PNY's "lifetime warranty", it's only effective during the "market life" of the card. I RMA'd my Ti4600, they sent me back a FX 5600 Ultra. Return it if possible, or replace it. PNY does not have a very good reputation as far as vid cards go, so avoid them in future purchases if possible.

Phil,

Whats wrong with their warranty? They sent you a newer technology card.As you said the warranty is only good till they stop making that model, well that model is no longer being made and they still sent you a great vid. card anyways.Sounds like a pretty good policy to me.

I had some problems with other cards made by PNY and let me tell you out of all the companys that make vid. cards they will help you to the end no matter what.I e-mailed them and they respond within 24 hours alway's.Compared to alot of other companys ,that's saying alot.

I personaly think they make some of the best NVIDIA products.

Unlike visiontek, asus big companys try to e-mail them and see if you get a response or help, aint gonna happen.
