I'm really stupid with computers. i recently had my computer reformat, and obviously some of the programs or drivers in it is lost. i have the installation CD, but it only installed my windows xp. i want to play some games in my computer but it says that the video card does not support it. i browsed on the net how to fix it. and i did the "dxdiag" thing and this thing came up: The system is using the generic video driver. Please install video driver provided by the hardware manufacturer. DirectDraw test results: All tests were successful. Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify that the driver is a final version from the hardware manufacturer. and i have no clue which manufacturer so i browsed again how to fix it i downloaded the PC wizard. ugh.. I'm really really sorry but i have no clue how to fix it. would someone please help me?

Glad you sorted it out. I just wanted to add one thing since you say you're not that great with computers. It is really important to keep all of your drivers up to date if you want your system to run as stable as possible and with the best performance. I always recommend doing regular scans with automatic driver update software. It will quickly tell you what driver updates are available for your system and makes it very easy to stay updated. Just throw it into your standard maintainance routine with virus and spyware scans, defrag, etc.

Hope it helps. Happy computing. :)
