I have never overclocked before, I just wanted to try it for fun. I have a Nvidia 7600GS (AGP). I used nTune to do this, I overclocked it like 100MHz more than the factory settings at once, and than the screen went all funny, I had to turn the machine right off by holding down the power button for 10 seconds.

I will not overclock any more! Would this of done any sort of damage? It was only on for about 30 seconds (or less) before I shut it down.

All you did was overclock too much. You have to learn to do it in small increments, NOT in one huge leap. And you should always test for stability after each increase. If you run into problems, simply back off on the overclock a bit. According to this link, the 7600GS has the G73 GPU clocked at 400MHz:

The 7600GT uses the same GPU clocked at 560MHz, so your card *should* be capable of running at 500MHz:

You may wanna try ovreclocking with ATiTool instead:
