Comment:

I have a ViewSonic P220f monitor and a NVIDIA GeForce FX5200 video card.

Periodically the screen flickers and turns a slight to dark color of GREEN. Sometimes it will 'go back' by itself. I have found I can power down the computer for a couple of minutes and it will be OK for a couple of days.

Question: Is it the monitor or the video card?

Check the connection between the monitor and the card and the card and the MOBO.

That problem can be caused by the monitor to pc cable where it plugs to card being faulty.

How old is the monitor? Did the problem start up recently? As a monitor gets older, it can manifest the problem you have described.

I had that happen to me I also run the GeForce 5200 and it ended up being the monitor cable.
