I need the help of the internet to help me pick a video/graphics card that my computer can handle!
Time for the info:
Computer -
Dell Dimension Desktop, circa 2003
OS: Windows XP 5.1
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.20 GHz
RAM: 510 MB (too lazy to upgrade this)Video Card -
Type: Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV
DAC Type: Internal
Total Memory: 64 MB
Current Display: 1280x720 (32 bit) (75 Hz)
Monitor: Plug and Play MonitorI would appreciate any input on this matter. Also, "get a new computer" is not a valid answer. Yet.

Which Dimension?
The Dimension 2xx0 computers only have PCI slots. If you have one of these computers, grab a GeForce 6200 PCI or FX5500 PCI. Don't buy anything faster than the GeForce 6200; a faster card would be limited by the bus.
The Dimension 4xx0 and 8xx0 computers have AGP. If you have one of these computers, go for an ATI Radeon HD2600Pro/XT AGP or NVIDIA GeForce 7600GT AGP. Anything faster would be limited by the CPU.
The creme de la creme of Socket 939:
Opty 185 @ 3.2GHz
SLI'ed GTS-640s, both flashed to 625/1458/1950
4GB PC3200
Blu-Ray/HD-DVD, X-Fi
A8N32-SLI Deluxe
3DMark06: 13896

Does your motherboard have an AGP slot or just standard PCI? What's the purpose of the video upgrade...gaming? If you want a decent gaming card, you may have to upgrade the power supply. And if you wanna be able to play games well, you're gonna need more RAM.
"And that's the fishing line, because Sharkboy said so!"

It's a Dimension 2400.
The purpose, yes, is for gaming; namely, World of Warcraft and Portal.
I know I'll need to upgrade my RAM, but now is not the time. Now is the time for video card upgrading.
But thanks, y'all. You gave me the info I needed. :>

Here's the specs on your system:

As jackbomb said, there is no AGP slot, only standard PCI. Don't confuse that with PCI-Express...they are two totally different things.
You can get an ATI HD2400Pro 256MB/64-bit PCI card for just $45 after rebate:

Here's an FX5500 256MB/128-bit card for $65:

And here's a 6200 256MB/64-bit card for $65:

I am now considering the possibilities behind getting a new stick or two of RAM. For this, I require aid, internet!
My computer's still the same as it is in the first post, except for my phat new GeForce 6200 video card!
