Hi.

I recently bought a new computer - 3.0 GHZ. To go with the new computer I also purchased a video card, a sound card, and speakers. The video card was a ATI Radeon x800 Pro REFURB*, the sound card was an X-fi Xtreme Music, and I bought the best 2.1 speakers I could find on the creative labs website (the model was like 3600 or something - I'm too lazy to look it up and besides it wouldn't help anyway).

Everything works perfect except for one thing - I can't view movies on my computer. By that I mean that I can turn on any movie and it will lag every few seconds just a little. It is extremely annoying to watch a lagging movie and about onece a minute it lags a little bit more then usual and the sound gets ahead of the video.

Above I mentioned my processor and my sound card to point out that my processor is not the problem here because it is fast enought to watch a movie and the sound card isn't either because it is the newest and latest and has all the latest drivers.

I tried watching movies on different players (Power DVD, Win AMP, Windows Media Player,...) and all work the same - they all lag. And when the sound gets ahead of the video I keep having to find the slider of the player that I am watching the movie in and press the slider in the same place that it is in so that the movie "skips" to the place a couple of seconds ahead or behind and gets its sound back at the same rate as the video.

The games work perfect with X800 Pro and are all flawless but the movies lag. I guess that is why it was REFURB - someone noticed the same problem and had ATI replace the card but I don't think I can repace it because if it send it to they they will probably send me a different REFURB that might works just as bad if not worse.

Question 1: Is there any way to fix/find out the problem?

Question 2: Does anyone know if ATI will replace the card with another refurb or if they will give me a new card if I send it to them?

Thanks in advance for any info you provide.
