Well, hmm..., where to begin. I recently had my CPU burn out, so I bought a cheap Sempron to replace it for now. It came with a motherboard, and we thought my old mobo might be damaged, so we used the new mobo. Everything wentin fine and all seemed to be well. My brother -in law and wife did the work on it while I was at work, and when I got home I realized they installed XP to a different drive than I had wanted. I switched things around and formated and installed XP, AVG, and my wife and my games. All seemed well still, so I went to bed while SWG was still patching. When I got up,all still seemed well. I went to work, only to have my wife call and say the game wouldn't work. Kept getting black flashes and garbled graphics, so it seemed to be a video card problem. She tried reinstalling the drivers, which did no good. Then she happened to check the hardware wizard to find that it said there were two video cards found. The only card we had in it was an ATI Radeon 9200 in an AGP slot. There is no onboard card. Under the device manager it listed two video cards. I had her uninstall everything that said ATI, as well as the cards under the manager. Upon rebooting, the hardware wizard found and installed the same card twice again. She tried another video card, with the same result. She then formatted and reinstalled XP. It shows no video card in the device manager, but if we install drivers, it puts two in. I don't have a clue what is causing this, or what to do. Sorry this is so long, but I tried to list all the details. Any help anyone could give would be greatly appreciated.

try going to device manager and disable one of the video adapters.. if that won't work go back and reinable the one you disabled and disable the other one.

My Radeon 9550 is listed twice too. I believe it's because the card supports 2 monitors. I'm not at my PC right now, but the I think it's listed as A9550 & A9550 Secondary

ASUS A7N8X-X
Athlon XP 1800+
8.5 x 200MHz
1024MB PC3200 2.5-3-3-7
Asus A9550GE/TD 128MB
WinME/WinXP Pro SP1
