I recently formatted my computer's hard drives and when I finally go tthe computer back up and running, the video card is not even recognized. It is working as far as the monitor being able to display an image, but there's nothing listed for it in the Device Manager or in my display settings. I run a somewhat beefy system, the video card is an ATI All-In-Wonder 9600 (I think 9600), with 128mb DDR memory. I really have no idea what would cause this, I changed nothing with the coputer except for the for mat. I took apart the entire computer yesterday and put it back togther, still no luck. If anyone has any ideas, they would be appreciated.

Well, it's pretty simple---you have to install the correct drivers for the video card. Go to the manufacturer's website and look them up.

Another option is to upgrade to XP-SP2. By upgrading, Windows will (or should) install the appropriate video drivers.

Since you've had the hood open anyway, check and make sure of the model of your display adapter.

ATI's Catalyst Drivers cover most but not all of their display adapters.

Since you didn't know about display adapter drivers, do you know about Windows XP Service Pack 2?
