So recently many lines have started to appear on my laptops monitor. Its very strange though, in that if I leave the computer for a day, the lines will go away on the splash screens, then when I get to windows a line or two will appear, and it will grow until my screen is filled with horizontal lines.
I tried to do some stuff myself, but I have limited computer knowledge (just reseated the video card/memory/and LCD to Motherboard cable thing). I also tried reformatted, just to make sure it wasnt a software problem, but I'm quite sure its hardware now, since that didnt help, and when I push on my keyboard, many of the lines will go away. But none of this really helped at all.
So I checked with Dell's technical support, they said my motherboard went bad and i'll need a new one. This didnt sound very plausable to me, so I took it in to a shop for a free estimate thing and they said that my video card was bad.
So I had a couple of questions
First, does my video card or Motherboard sound bad? or neither?
And also, if it is my video card, where can I buy one? Preferabbly a nvidia 6800 GO for a Dell Inspiron 9300. I checked all over the web and all I found was 2 cards off ebay, neither of which were ending anytime soon.
Thanks

Most Laptops have a VGA output for external monitor.Try to connect an external monitor - if there are no lines your screen is definitely faulty.
