I currently have a problem...

I've an MSI KM2M Combo-L motherboard... also have a GF3TI500 (should that make a difference... not new either)

problem is, recently I've been having some trouble with the computer... just now i'm getting some weird problems at startup

when the system POSTs, stuff comes on screen, plus some rather odd "A"'s with "~" over em... pretty much everywhere... going into BIOS has same problem.... when the WinXP Loading screen comes up, i've two semi-solid yellow lines, fairly large, going down the screen.... but, winXP never loads... shuts off after the loading screen...

I'm not sure where the problem is... the year+ old video card, the new Motherboard... or any of several other possible problems...

Thoughts? Ideas? Solutions involving a sledgehammer?

1) Try to load "optimal default" in bios, see if it works.
2) Try to load "safe default" in bios, see if it works.
3) Try to swap the Vidio Card, see if it works.
4) Flash CMOS! If still no luck; can be faulty motherboard or ram.

I've had the same problem before, most likely your video card will need replacement. Try a different card in the system to see if it corrects the problem.

I f your system works now, load "optimal default" again, for higher performance.
