VIA 1.2ghz good enough for office t

fry's electronics is selling laptops for $399.

here are the specs: Via 1.2GHz Processor, 256MB Memory, 30GB hard drive, CDRW/DVD-Rom Combo Drive, 14.1"XGA Screen, 10/100 LAN, and Microsoft Windows XP Home

is this system good enough for microsoft office, internet surfing, and listening to music? im not a gamer and all i do is office stuff. thanks

It'll do fine for normal office work, word processing, spreadsheets and the like. Music isn't very demanding and it will take the Internet in its stride.

I know someone who is running a financial business on a couple of computers with similar specs with no problems at all.

If you wanted to improve matters a little, another 256 Mbs of memory wouldn't go amiss.

agreed ^^^. that system is plenty for office work, though 512mb total ram would not hurt...
