Are you saying that for a full 60 seconds after pushing the ON button you get no fans, no lights, no display, and then after this time it will commence the normal startup process?
Or is it the case that the normal CMOS startup routine commences and you see the setup options displayed, but the operating system does not initiate until the minute is up?
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

What do you mean it takes one minute? Is the screen completely blank? Are there any lights flashing on the case? Could it be that it simply takes that long to load or that your monitor is slow to warmup?

More questions. Is this a laptop or desktop system? If a desktop system and, as you say, an older unit then I suggest you replace the CMOS battery on the motherboard.
