Hi, just installed a new sound card, and everything seemed to be fine until I tried starting my computer. I hear the fans spinning when I power on, but the monitor just shows the orange led. No POST beep test occurs. Strange thing is after about 5 to 6 tries, it suddenly works fine. After I ge into Windows everything is just as normal as before (except some random windows beeps that didn't happen before) Then when I power off, I have to keep restarting it and turning on and off the monitor before it works. I don't think this a video card or monitor problem since the POST test didn't occur either. In order to install the Sound and Midi Card I had to move some things around in the PCI bays...could that be a problem? Windows isn't saying that there is one....

Try removing all your cards except video, and test to see if it works properly, then start re-installing them 1 by 1, and find which is causing the problem.
P.S an Athlon XP 1800+ shouldn't be running at 1100mhz.
