My screen has recently started to get four thick vertical lines down it, they keep coming and going. Sometimes they are there from startup other times they dont start for several hours. I havent found anything that seems to actually get rid of them they just randomly come and go. Try the monitor on anothe PC and see if it has the same problem. It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice...

If the lines appear using different PC's then the fault must be travelling with the monitor! Could be one of the three color guns is begining to show age, how old is the monitor? Or it's the power supply unit, if the voltage dips, could be losing efficency and leaves out lines which show as missing colors or black lines. Try another monitor with your PC, if the replacement has no lines, then it must be yr monitor. TheFreeInsuranceMan

oops, i miss-read the post, i tried plugging the computer into another monitor, and the lines appeared on the other monitor, so it cant be the monitor...

I have tons of little yellow lines going from top to bottom. They start after boot up and 4 minutes later. They do not appear on the xp screen. Also have plugged in another monitor and they appear there. They seem to have apeared after downloading serivce pack 2 -- not and old computer have an ati monitor - it is simply drivng me crazy. Hope you find your awnser. BIG GUY
