I have vertical pink lines on my HP DV9000, they are one pixel wide and cover anywhere that's white on the screen. I have plugged in an external monitor and that display is fine, so I think the problem is either the ribbon cable or the LCD screen itself?, what I am having trouble with is when I do anything that that the "User Account Control" window pops up, the back screen losses the pink lines but the UAC screen has them. Now I'm starting to wonder if it's a video driver problem?, I have removed the video driver and reinstalled it to no avail. I should mention I had to replace both hinges account the laptop was dropped and both hinges were snapped off, the laptop worked fine for 3 weeks after I replaced the hinges, I have tried removing and replacing the ribbon cable on the back of the LCD, this had no effect on the problem Is there any way that this could be software related? Thank you for your time
