i just built my new computer
i hooked the monster to the grafix card and the black screen said a bunch of stuff and then

verifying dmi pool data..............
could not boot, insert boot disk

so i inserted the xp disk and it said
verifying dmi pool data..............
then it launched into the windows xp installation. when it asked me about partitions i turned it off and added a couple fans directly to the psuand put the lid on the case and stood it upright.

i turned it on again and now it just says

verifying dmi pool data..............

and hangs there forever

im in tears, it thought i finally got it working

Which OS? 1? Oh wait, 1/2 way thru the text I see it's XP.

Which CPU & RAM? 3? Hmmmm. 3Ghz? 3GB? 3 strikes & you're out?

Which Model/Manufacturer of your motherboard? 2? Don't know that one.

Did you benchtest the board before installing it in the case? Did you check the CPU temp? Did you manually configure the BIOS settings to match your hardware? Did you run memtest86 to verify your RAM is good? Did you retest the board after installing it in the case & BEFORE connecting any drives??

The bottomline is if you're not gonna provide your system specs & describe how you went about assembling the hardware, you're wasting your time & ours.

I don't see your video card or PSU listed. I know from your other post that you have an 8800GT but I have a hunch that your PSU might not be adequate.

You didn't answer my questions about whether you benchtested before assembly, whether you tested the RAM, or whether you customized the BIOS settings?

OK GET THIS!!!:::
i put the xp disk in and restarted. i had the hdd disconnected until it passed by the hang, then it booted xp setup. AS QUICK AS THE WIND i connected the hdd. setup loads, and detects it. it is now formatting. what do u think? i am suspicious because the keyboard seemed to stop working after i pressed f2, f9, or del to get into the bios options, boot menu, or recovery disk. it is working now through thesetup. btw, same results for 2 different keuyboards in 2 diffferent back pannel usb slots. what do u think?

SLOWWWWWW Down!

You really need to go back to basics with this, I can tell you are in a hurry to get this going but, that ain't the way to get er done.

These guys? are trying to help you but you're not really paying attention, not answering questions. You are getting ahead of yourself with the risk that you could FUBAR the whole thing.

Not trying to be critical but the questions asked need to be answered if you want ttheir help. I'm sure they know how frustrated you are. Only you can help them to help you.

They do know what you are doing.

I'll shut up now.

There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.

update:
ok ive been working on this all day. the computer seems fickle. sometimes i am able to do what i want, and sometimes not. i used to not be able to select any of the options in the bios, boot order menys, but now i can for the most part. i am using the correct memory cpu and fsb timings multipliers speeds and voltages. i goofed around in the bios and finally got it to boot up a different way. it now sasys windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem. could not read from the selected boot disk (cdrom). im going to try the same trick i tried before with a different version of windows xp, but i am unhopeful and need ur input.

"i am using the correct memory cpu and fsb timings multipliers speeds and voltages"

You really need to be more specific if you want our help. Your CPU *should* be running at 9.5 x 266MHz (2.53GHz). The voltage range is 0.85v – 1.3625v...it will *probably* default to about 1.175v. I realize that you have DDR1066, but the RAM should be configured to run at 266MHz (DDR533) to give you a 1:1 ratio.

And you still haven't told us the make/model/wattage & amperage specs of your power supply.
