Hai

Is it true that we should not use Magnatized Screw Drivers to fix motherboards?

Thanks.

You should be careful with magnetic screw drivers ..... but I use them all the time and have never had a problem ... yet.

You do have to take care with them but I can't think of any components on the mobo itself that are affected by magnetism. Chips, resistors & capacitors are immune.
I suppose ferrite beads wcould be affected but that's about all I can think of. Small transformers could be but
I don't recall them being used.

The field strengths of screws magnetised by a screwdriver are very low.

The HD and floppy drive are the only devices I can think of where magnetism could cause problems and even then you would probably have to be poking around inside them.

I have never had a problem using a magnetized screwdriver.

Probably saved my butt many times.

I have ten thumbs,or so.
