Hi there friends! And everyone else. It's been a while and I have been busy... lol

Fatherhood eh!

Anyhow... it occurred to me, in a stroke of genious....... now hear me out.

What is the WEAKEST operating system that would operate a video capture card in a laptop. Say some of those Pentium 1's and 2's with TFT screens.

Because it occurred to me, that if it was possible to make an operating system boot and automatically load the TV CAPTURE SOFTWARE when it turned on, then whatever is inputted to the laptop, is what comes out fullscreen on the laptop.

And VOILA!!!!! You have a 12 or 14 inch LCD screen for the car! For DAMN cheap! Like $20 or $40 at Goodwill thrift store for an old laptop!

Now tell me I am smart....lol.

I am going to get a cheeeeepy tv capture PCMCIA card from ebay. And it accepts SVIDEO in, so I just run SVIDEO out from my source, say a dishnetwork box or tivo...

Can you say LCD tv for next-ta-nothing!

:-) See ya!

Lotsa luck!
You will probably need a 100mhz CPU and win98.

$20-$40 for the laptop and $100 or more for a capture card with a tuner in it.

How exactly do you plan on running TIVO or Dishnetwork in you car?
