Hello, I have a fairly simple question today. Will a PCI-E 2.1 GPU work properly in a PCI-E 1.0 port? The GPU and board in question are as follows.
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6570 2GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card
GIGABYTE GA-K8N Ultra-9
I can acquire this board for a good price, but I need to make sure that I will be able to use this graphics card with it.
Thanks in advance,
Comguy

This issue has been covered several times before. PCIe 2.1 cards will NOT work in 1.x slot, however, 2.0 cards WILL work. See below. It's possible that a BIOS update will do the trick, but do your homework before making a move.
@riider Ah, alright. I'll see if I can get a 2.0 card then.
Thanks,

I just looked at the board specs. That's really an old timer. It doesn't look like any of the BIOS updates address the PCIe slot.
