See previous post "Can you do this", only this time you need a cable capable TV card.

I say get this one... I have it and love it.. it is a tv tuner card and fm reciever..

should run around $50-60 aprox..

and yes you will have to split the cable before your cable modem.. having the extra cable running into your tv tuner card..

Video LAN => http://www.videolan.org

Ethereal => http://www.ethereal.com

To tap your Max signal. Turn on a box, and tune to a channel. Start ethereal, and do a capture. Then on the results list, there will be a mpeg-2 stream going to an IP via UDP protocol.

For example: my settings were 239.255.0.75 port 9406

I take that and start video LAN, open a network stream, under UDP/RTP Multicast, enter the IP & port. Hit OK and enjoy! I haven't figured out how to save presets yet, so IF you find out lemme know.
