Can a usb wired mouse be used on any laptop? I am looking for a laptop and am more comfortable using a mouse. I already have a usb wired optical mouse from another machine and would like to use it.

No reason why not if the laptop has a USB port. As you are using Windows 98 you may have to install drivers.

Thanks for the reply Stuart. I am sorry for the confusion I created by using the specs for the system I am on at the time. I have not purchased the laptop yet, but it will be new and most likely XP Pro. Didn't want to invest in wireless mouse if what I have will work.
