USB V firewire proc. loading

Does USB 1 or 2 and/or fire wire load the processor - I think they probably do they aren't like scsi - a seperate bus - are they? If they do load down the processor which one is better/worse i.e. firewire or USB?

I ran a lil test. USB 2.0 didnt slow down a thing. I dont use firewire though, but I imagine it is the same thing.
