I have an internal IDE Syquest Sparq drive that I'd like to put in an external case and have the ability to move to various machines. There is a cable adapter that allows you to connect USB to IDE/ATAPI that I'm wondering if it would work. I'm told that Windows should see this as a removable drive. I have two machines that I'd like to use, one is a desktop with a 750Mhz Athlon /256 MB of memory using Windows 98SE and a Toshiba Satellite 2805 notebook with 128 MB and using Windows Me. I also have WinXP that I may put on the desktop. Anyone have experience using one of these cables with a Sparq 1GB drive?

You should'nt have any problems with it. The data bus will be kinda slow though.
