Hi, I have a real annoying problem.
My usb ports keep disconnecting all the time and i think i have tried everything.
I have a Matsonic 8137c+ motherboard with kt266A chipset and a Logitech dual optical mouse,
i am running XP pro.
If i unplug the mouse and plug it in it finds the mouse but disconnects it after just some seconds again.
I have installed all the VIA 4 in 1 drivers (tried ten of them i think), the Via usb filter and patch, several versions of Logitechs mouseware, tried Xp sp1, reinstalled windows, flashed bios and checked all the settings, unchecked the power saving boxes in the device manager, deleted usb in device manager and then rebooted, i even bought a usb card and still have the same problem.
The mouse is fine cuz i've tested it on my friends computers.
Anyone with some suggestions please post them.
Best regards Josef

Try connecting another USB device to your computer,If it won't respond then buy a USB to PS/2 converter($5 US)
I've never heard of that problem before,
good luck.

This is actually a fairly common problem with XP. I've run into a couple of instances of this problem here, but nobody seems to have the solution. My optical mouse disconnected/reconnected constantly, and I tried everything. I finally gave up and switched to another mouse. Problem went away.

Ok, i've already tried with the PS/2 and its still the same problem.
I know the problem can be solved cuz i did it once before but i dont remember how, now i have a new HD and the problem got back.
You said you bought a new mouse, what mouse did you buy, a Microsoft optical or a wheel mouse? I want to use a optical mouse cuz i am a gamer and that suits me better.
Best regards,
Josef
