Hope someone can help me out , last night all of the sudden all of my usb ports stopped working, there isnt any ps/2 ports on my computer so i can't log on to windows at all to check anything, I have reset the CMOS and that did nothing , i also bought a PCI USB card was going to install it but after the dell start up screen another pops up and says " Keyboard Failure-Floppy diskette seek failure-Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run setup utility.
Of course with no way for my keyboard to work there is no way for me to do this , my question is there any way to get around this somehow?, or am i just out of luck and need a motherboard? any help would be appreciated , thank you

Apparently your model is a desktop or tower computer.
It sounds like your power supply is failing.

USB, and your keyboard, require the power supply is putting out an accurate +5v.
If it isn't, those, and your floppy drive, optical drives, serial ports, etc., cannot work properly.

Failing power supplies are common and can cause your symptoms.
Check your PS.

If the power supply is a standard (PS/2) size, you DO NOT have to buy a Dell power supply - you can replace it with any decent standard ATX power supply that has the same wattage capacity or greater.

NOTE that if you have a fairly recent video card installed, you MAY need to install a power supply that has a greater capacity that the system had originally, with at least a certain minimum current capacity at certain voltages - see the specs for the card on the manufacturer's web site - the minimum PS requirements are often listed under System Requirements or similar.

Standard PS/2 size - 86mm high, 150mm wide, 140mm deep, or 3 3/8" h x 5 7/8" w x 5 1/2" d , or very close to that, though the depth can be more or less for some PSs.
