i have a computer with the 5usb ports on the back that are not reconizing any device,also the mouse ps2 port will not reconize a mouse plugged into it. making it tuff to get into the computer to fix other things. what to do please

You can use the keyboard arrows, Tab and Enter keys to move around the screen.Always power Off before removing any hardware that is not USB based like the PS/2 mouse for example.It takes a little getting used to move around without a mouse.Check the Control Panel System Properties to find out if you have exclamations marks for some hardware.You can also detect hardware with the Add New Hardware in the Control Panel.Sometimes hardware is only partially installed.Good luck.

im thinking something happened with the motherboard that affects the usbs and ps2 port

Could be. I'd reboot, and then go see if the usb ports are still showing; if they're dead I wouldn't expect them to show up.
