i recently built a computer and am using this case

and this mobo

i am trying to get my front usb ports to work but cant seem to plug the cords in fro them to the right spot on the mobo. i know i need drivers but i cant get them until they are plugged into the right spot. i have a disk for all my drivers but no drivers aer available until i get it setup corrctly. i plugges them into what looks like the right spot but still no luck. the cords are a 5 pin and 4 pin connector theres two of them. any help is apppreciated.

You do not need drivers for usb ports for XP, simply use SP1 or higher, but you do have to manually upgrade the driver for usb 2.0, it does not default simply from the service packs.
I may be wrong, and do not know why, but that motherboard makes no mention of front usb connections.Check the manual and if you do not have one, as many are on the driver cd, see if you can download one from mb mfgr site.

There are USB connectors on this motherboard. USB1-4 are in the back panel. 5-8 on the motherboard, right between the middle two PIC slots.

Unfortunately there is no standardised method for the pin-out for motherboard USB headers and the manual is little help either.

I would look closely at the motherboard, with a magnifying glass if necessary, and see if there is some indication on the motherboard as to which pins are which and then try and match them to the cables coming from the from panel.

ok i plugges the two cords into on of the spots in between the pci spots like you said
it looks like this .....
....

both cords fit into that one spot because one is 5 pin one is four im geussing this is the correct thing to do but still they dont work. is there anything else i need to do or did i even do that right?
