Hi guys,
For some reason my USB connectors(front & back) have stopped working. When i plug in any USB device, like my flash drive for example, it does not show up on my screen in my computer, its like its not even plugged in.

When i boot up into Bios with it plugged in, the computer does see it and recognise it, so looks like a windos issue to me rather than hardware.

Checked my drivers etc and they all say up to date and that my USB controllers are working, so what gives?

Any suggestions?

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

I would suggest removing all USB entries in Device manager, if that is what MS calls it in Vista. Be prepared to supply drivers off the Vista or MBoard CD. Reboot and let Vista reinstall the USB.

First disconnect all USB devices from the PC. Next read Remove and reinstall all USB controllers given in the following M$ article.

Did you disconnect all USB devices as instructed in XPUser's response?
Do you have automatic updates enabled? If so, look to see if an update was installed just prior to the USB ports going out. Have any other changes to this computer been made recently?

Did you ever consider reverting the system to a much earlier state (before the issue surfaced) via System Restore?
