USB ports do not work.

Specs: Windows XP
When i hook anything USB up to my computer, it comes up saying the device has malfunctioned and cannot be used. This is very weird because my mouse and keyboard, both usb, still work. i tried finding usb drivers for my motherboard a ecs 945gz ct-m, but i could not find any. please help!

Normally 2 USB ports are controlled by each USB controller. So, you must have multiple controllers, which is normal. Look in Device Manager for any yellow or red punctuation marks by any system devices.

The message seems to indicate the hardware you are trying to connect may have some sort of problem. Try moving your mouse or keyboard to the port in question to see if the same message appears.

It is possible to permanently damage USB ports by connecting defective hardware to them.
