I have a USB port and 9-1 memory card reader panel on the front of my machine. I use the card reader for my digital camera SD card and the USB port for my iPOD. I plugged the digital camera into the USB port with the cable, got the message that the USB port had a power surge, I unplugged the camera and now my USB port and none of my card readers work. My iPOD no longer works in the USB port for downloading either. I don't know where to start. Did I blow out the card with the camera? Any help is appreciated.

Patti, USB can sometimes be "flaky." I would first go to Device Manager and delete everything USB related (everything under Universal Serial Bus controllers) and reboot. Windows will then recognize the USB controller as "new hardware" and automatically install the drivers.

Don't delete them all at once. Uninstall them one at a time. Reboot when done.
