Specs: Windows XP
We have an Acesonic AM-828 audio amp with a usb port.We had it plugged into our old gateway computer. And we could play music from our computer through our amp. We bought a new Dell computer with windows xp because we were aware that the Acesonic AM-828 amp was desgined for windows xp. We plugged the amp into the usb port of our new computer and we have no sound. The only difference between our old computer and our new one is the new one has high speed usb ports. Could this be the problem? Please help us so we can enjoy our music again.
Thank you Judy

Did the amp come with any kind of driver disk or install media?

No. We just plugged it in and it worked on our old computer.

According to the Acesonic website there is a Windows XP driver for download.

Check the output on your pc sound card that it's set to digital.
The usb is not a problem as the amp is usb 2.0 compliant.
The only other thing I can think of that "may" be a problem is that your new pc will have a full Service Pack 3 for XP deployed, but if you had the old one with SP3 then we can rule that out.
Failing to get it resolved, try contacting the maker and give make and model info to see if they can find a solution.
