Comment: Hello, Is there any software out there which enables you to use your USB Pen Drive as a pc security key/lock. So you lock your pc, then use your USB Pen Drive to unlock the pc. I have found sofware that a friend used, but it only works for his USB pen and is only made for his USB pen. Thanks, Miles

Reply: (edit)What your friend has is not a USB drive. It is a security device which when installed will only allow the computer to be used when the USB device is plugged in. The better ones of these include a bluetooth device which you carry i your pocket. This allows for the computer to be locked automatically when you walk away. It is possible to encrypt the hard drive and include the de-encryption routine on a pen drive. Making the hard drive unusable without the pen drive installed. This is not a desirable solution as if the pen drive was lost or damaged, you will not be able to use your computer or recover the files you wanted to protect.

Reply: (edit)Hey I have a Twinmos 128mb MobileDisk IV and I can lock my PC, I have to run the software and then plug my USB Pen in and when I remove it it will lock the PC. I also have all my files on it so it must be a USB Pen! Chris Hulme
