I have a VERY slow hard drive in a VERY
SLOW laptop, and would think that putting
a swap file system on a quicker USB pen
might help out. Has anyone tried this? If
so it would be so awesome if it worked.

Well, you know, I tried to use a RAMDRIVE as
swapfile space, but to no avail.

Bottom line is, plug in the pen, and go into settings and see if windows will allow you to set your swap file as the pen drive.

I bet it won't.

One other idea, I had, was to try and use one of those smart media cards and a reader to do the same. No go there either.

Let me know if you get anywhere!

Oh ok cool. Thanks for the information.

I have a feeling that removable drives cannot be swap file-capable either.

I havnt bought one yet and probably wont unless it does work.

Could you recommend some good hard drives for an old Pentium MMX computer?
