Hello, I have had several devices hooked up to usb ports, including an ipod, an external HD, and a printer. For an unknown reason none of my usb ports can read the devices anymore. I tried to uninstall them and then restart to reinstall them. They say they are all working, and have the necessary drivers in device manager. I am at a complete loss here.

I have never heard of this before. Try getting the external HD, and plugging it into the main usb port and not the hub.

I have a similar problem except in reverse. The computer where I plug in the IPOD into the USB hub disables both the CD and DVD rom as well as slows down the entire computer. I know that before the IPOD was plugged into the USB hub everything was working ok. Once the IPOD is unplugged everything still does not work. Suggestions on how to fix this please. Thanks!
