USB memory stick not working

Ultra speed / 8gb

Specs: Windows XP
USB memory stick not recognized. I tried in 3 different PC and different USB ports. Same Message. I can't even see the drive letter of the stick anymore (in XP) but I can see it in ms-dos. I typed DIR in ms-dos, I can't see any of my folders I had on the stick.
I always use the "remove safely" feature prior to removing the stick from the PC.

Is their a file/program that will help me recover the Data?

I doubt it.

Could go to softpedia and see or try stuff.

Linux might be able to mount it but I doubt it also.

I suspect either board is damaged, connector damaged or controller, well, might as well say the flash chip too.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
