I have a external USB2 hard drive 300GB Maxtor in a Bytecc enclosure. Recently it has stopped responding after a few minutes of inactivity, and I have to shut it off and turn it back on to get it to work. Is this normal? Or is the hard drive or enclosure going bad? I have tried unchecking the 'allow windows to turn this device off to save power' on all usb root hubs, but the same problem continues. Any Ideas?

Yes, I tried that. I did figure out the problem though. It is whenever my air conditioner turns on that it gets disconnected. I will have to get my UPS:)
