I have a 16GB USB flash and I try to copy an 8 GB file to it. I consistently get messages that the file exceeds the capacity of the flash drive. I have already formatted (full format) the Flash drive twice.

No, it is Fat32. I was not aware of the 4GB limit. I will try reformatting it as NTFS. Thank you!

You can't format a flash drive with an NTFS file system. You can only format it with FAT32

Actually, I stand corrected, you can format it with an NTFS file system. go here to find out how - http://www.ntfs.com/quest22.htm So yes, you can format to NTFS and put a 8 gig file on it.
The only drawback to doing this is now you have to use the Remove Hardware feature now instead of just unplugging it.

Got it. I don't mind "removing hardware." I found the USB flash to be an easy way to carry the hi def movies I download to my XBox 360 and my PS3. Until now I've been using my home wi-fi network to broadcast movies, but sometimes the movies are "choppy" and my network can't handle two movies playing at a time. You guys have been great. Thank you.
