My Apacer USB flash drive has stopped working. For some reason it has changed its driver from ubstor.sys to disk.sys. Try as I may, Device Manager and Add Hardware "wizard" resolutely refuse to either (a) give me a suitable device type so I can re-install it as a new device, or (b) accept the correct usb.inf and .sys files even when I rub their noses in them. The message "the specified location does not contain information about your hardware" appears. This is nonsense. I have downloaded W2K patches, followed Usbman tips, loaded the latest VIA drivers for the chipset, deleted drivers in safe mode and let W2K find them again, all to no avail. Any ideas out there?

Try it in a different machine -preferably with XP - just to make sure but I think it sounds like it has blown - Find out if you are still under guarantee and send it back saying it stopped working
